Transport ESB and ID objects

Hi Experts,

I think supposedly when transporting objects from Dev to QA, ESB and ID objects should be put in separate Transport Request, but I put them in the same one, I am just wondering what is the potential problem will this cause?

Really appreciate any explanation!

Hi Blue,

You can include both ESR and ID objects in same transport, it will not cause any problems when you transport to PIQ, The ESR objects will automatically imported and activated only directory objects will be imported and waiting in the change list to activate.

If you have any SLD objects needs to transport you can also include in same transport but you need to put them first in the transport.

Praveen.

Thank you so much Praveen for your reply!

I am in ESR of QA now and don't see any of my objects been transported over. Is there any steps I need to do and missed?

Hi Blue

Did you release the transport? Did you import the transport into PIQ system? Is transport successful? Check the transport log to find the error when try to import the transport into PIQ system

Hi raghu,

In CTS+ transport you need to add all objects and then release the objects in QA.

Once released you can see the objects in QA system.

As already replied by Praveen, it is not required to have separate transport objects for ESR and ID. But, It would be better if you create 2 transport objects for ESR and ID, so that you don't miss any objects unintentionally.

Also, if any of your SLD components not mapped(Business systems, etc related to ID objects)  then at least your ESR objects will be imported in the first transport.

Hope it works.

Thanks,
Nidhi

Hello Nidhi,

yes. Didn't mention anywhere that separate transports are required.

Elaborated the steps.
