Equipement in sales order

Hi,

Today my customer wants that when they place an order they should specify a particular equiepement but currently I am unable to find any placeholder in VA01 WHERE we can manage equipement details like container 22GP etc?

Indraneel,

In simple words, equipment is combination of serial no + warranty details.

companies who has post sales service, will use equipment master to track the history of material.

Hi,

You can enter serial no. /equipment no. in VA01 under Extra option - Technical Objects.

But before doing do you need to activate the serial no profile and do the required config pertaining to serial no in IMG under basic function option in SD.

Hi Indraneel,

Yes, for Equipment Master(IE01/IE02/IE03) you need SAP PM. The equipment master will be linked to a corresponding serial number for that material.

If you don't want equipment master. Then serial number assigned under Sales Order(VA01/VA02) Overview Screen Menubar - Extra - Technical Objects is as good as equipment.

Well, you can assign serial number to material in sales doc without serial number profile. But, if want to track history of the serialised material, then you might need serial number(IQ01/IQ02/IQ03) with Serial number profile.
