Hi John,

You need to correct the permission on the folders.

just follow the steps

- logon on the OS with ora<sid> user

- goto /oracle/TMJ folder

- Run the command below command

touch test.txt

Also paste the output of the below command

ls -ltra in /oracle folder.

Dear John,

You need to create a filesystem

/oracle/TMJ in the operating system.

You also need to have file system

/oracle/TMJ/sapdata1

/oracle/TMJ/sapdata2

/oracle/TMJ/sapdata3

/oracle/TMJ/sapdata4

are you using a distributed landscape(DB and SAP will be on two different server) or standard one(DB and SAP will be on one server)

Hi John,

You need to maintain the value of SHMMAX to 4 GB

You can maintain the value by editing the file sysctl.conf

vi /etc/sysctl.conf

or you can run the below command to change the parameter

sysctl -w kernel.shmmax=4294967296

After editing the file , you can make it effective by running the below command

sysctl –p

If you have a OS administrator , then you can ask him/her to change the value.

Also you can select the ignore ALL in database installer to proceed further.
