SAP XMII class client ichart not found

Former Member

After 11.5 was installed on WIN 2003, when running SAP XMII portal, from the web server everything runs fine. When called from a intranet client (IIS 6.0) no servlets/applets are rendered. Just grey box. Some show the error "load: class igrid not found". The portal administrator, login, etc.. seems fine but will not render the applets. The same client runs fine against the version 10 production server.

Shari,

I this a new xMII installation or an upgrade from a previous xMII version?

Thanks,

Actually this is an upgrade from Lighthammer version 10.

It also looks like we may be getting a warning in the general Log:

Proxy URL requested [http://[ourservername], is not a authorized proxy

Hi Shari,

That error is unrelated and should not cause any issues.

On the machine with the issue navigate to

\Documents and Settings\<logged in user's ID>\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\javapi\v1.0\jar

You should have a bunch of illum8* files. Close all browsers and delete these files. Now try to open the page. These files should be downloaded to the dir. If they don't you may need to lower the browser's security settings.

Regards,

Jamie

On the browsing "client" machine, which won't load the applet, there is no such directory, nor any Ilum8* files.

Although it runs everything that is on the 10 server fine.

Hi Shari,

The file are named like

illum8.zip-598e28e0-4b7b7cba.zip

Are you sure that you are using the sun jre and not microsoft's? 11.5 does not support microsoft's vm. You should have the option "sun java console" under "tools" in internet explorer. If you don't make the change in "tools - internet options" and then the "advanced tab"

Jamie

Sure it's SUN, but I don't get the option anywhere to select "sun java console" under "tools" , not in advanced either.

(Win 2000, IE6.)

I suppose while installing Java you forgot to check IE as the default browser.

You can do that in the Control Panel .Double click on the Java Icon.

There in one of the tabs you should be able to select Internet Explorer.

After that restart your browser and you shpuld be able to see the "Sun Java Console" option in Tools menu.

Have you upgraded to 11.5 SR03?

What java version are you on -

1. The server?

2. The clients?

We have not upgraded to SR03 yet, but will do that. Our java versions:

client: Java 2 Runtime Env SE v1.4.2_07

Server: show both

Java 2 Runtime Env SE v1.4.2 and Java 2 Runtime Env SE v1.4.2_07

Thanks in advance.

JRE versions seem to be allrite.

Seems like an IE issue.

You might want to compare the Internet Options of the IE across the clients & Server. Compare the Security & the Advance Tabs .

Hopefully you will find something there as regards to IE displaying applets.
