Alerts in PI from ECC Errors

Hi Experts,

We are trying for Alerts Configuration in PO 7.4 . The PI based Alerts are successfully working , But we need to capture the Application and System Alerts occurring in SAP ECC system . So need assistance in configuring the alerts for ECC.

Please check blog and SAP Note 1584248, they contain description on how to configure propagation of alerts from ABAP backend systems to Alert Engine of an AEX/PO system.

Hi Vadim ,

My scenario is file to Proxy. So will the same configuration will work if the message will fail in ECC with application Error , since as per the blog the the Alert generated if in PI SOAP sender channel was stopped.

You can create alerts like below(add the ECC proxy channel)

Hi Amitosh,

Alert generation in ECC and its forwarding and processing in PO shall fulfil requirements described by you.

Detailed steps are described in Integrating Alert Framework-Based Systems - Administering Process Integration (PI) - SAP Library, Alert Notification Step-by-Step - Alert Management (BC-SRV-GBT-ALM) - SAP Library and Alert Configuration - Integration Engine - SAP Library together with few comments provided in the SAP Note I referred to earlier.

Following configuration shall be performed:

• Define alert configuration in ECC (as described in "Alert Notification Step-by-Step");
• Configure RFC destination in ECC (as described in SAP Note 1584248) and corresponding resource adapter in PO (as described in "Integrating Alert Framework-Based Systems");
• Ensure alerting is active in Integration Engine of ECC and Advanced Adapter Engine of PO (as described in "Alert Configuration");
• Maintain respective alert rule in Integration Directory of PO and activate it.
