How to retain leading zeroes in Failed Data Export

Former Member

Hello,

When exporting all failed data from View More Failed Data into a CSV file, how do I keep the leading zeroes in the data from disappearing?

Also, is it possible to specify the delimiter used? Commas are not working out.

Thank you,

Scott

Do you see the leading zeroes in the failed data in the application, but when you export and open the file they disappear?

--If you see them in the failed data that you see in the application window but not when you open the file (in Excel), then open the file in a text editor and see if they are still preserved.  If would be surprised if IS is manually stripping 0s when generating the csv file.

--if they are in the data source (table/view) but not in the failed data viewed in IS make sure you aren't implying a conversion (either in the IS view or rule parameter data type)

If neither of the above work, then check the underlying data in the failed data repository database to see whether they are preserved there?  perhaps you could export them directly from the FDR instead of through the application to preserve leading zeroes.
