Dear Experts,

We have a requirement on migration of exisiting PI landscape (SAP EHP1 for SAP Netweaver 7.1) to PI 7.4 single stack.

Can you please let us know on availability of tools exists for doing this migration.

We do have ABAP sender & receiver proxies & File,SOAP, JMS scenarios.

As the target PI 7.4 is java stack, handling ABAP proxies and connectivity configurations to be taken care.

Throw some light on :

Handling SLD.

Handling ESR objects -- Can it be transported or to be migrated thorugh tool to new environment?

Handling ID objects -- Should configurations are to be done manually?

Need your valuable inputs in this regard.

Thanks,

---Sai

Hi All,

How about BASIS involvement in this migration?

Are they taking care of SLD migration & system set up?

Can the ESR objects be handled through any specific tool? if so please suggest the best tool where we can move all UDF's and BPM's.

Note: Existing PI server is of dual stack but the target server PI 7.4 AEX Single Java stack.

Request you to through some inputs on handling proxies please.

Thanks,

Of course installation part, connectivity checking points. Basis will be takin care of those.

Are they taking care of SLD migration & system set up?

Who is taking care now, The same team, If it is basis then basis will continue to do the

same.

No CCBPM's in single stack you should migrate to NWBPM.

Regarding tools and proxies already links shared by experts.

Dear Experts,

How about Java Mappings?

When we import java mappings from imported archive will it be directly used or do we need add any jars or any care to be taken during migration.

Please suggest.

Thanks,

Sai,

You can proceed the same like u do for other objects.

Java mapping is same like earlier versions.

Hi Sai,

Pay attention that PI 7.1 uses java 1.5 and PI 7.4 runs on java 1.6 and some classes can be deprecated, however you shouldn't have any problem.

Also you can check this blog

to know what are the main differences. (PI 7.31 is similar than PI 7.4 with 5 SPs of difference, i mean for example PI 7.4 SP 10 = PI 7.31 SP 15).
