Repeated Inspection lots in case of defetcts

Dear all,

We try to use standard functionalities of SAP.We have some special need in Quality Management and we have strong feeling this should also be in standard SAP

Pl try to understand with example

Lot qty= 100 Pieces

Sampling plan =5 Pieces

Out of 5, 3 are ok and 2 are rejected

Repeated Inspection lot occurs with sampling plan of 5 again

Now again say out of 5 all pieces are ok then Usage decision is ok.

but again some pieces are rejected then system automatically proposes new lot.

Main aim is to have track complete MIS. We can not increase sample qty.

Please advise is there some standard document which explains this need.

Regards

As I know ,SAP QM standard so not create a new Inspection lot when samples are rejected.

1. But As per DIN 2859, part 1 / SO 2859 and standard SAP there is provision of re-sampling ( dependent multiple sampling & Independent multiple sampling) functionality which can be used.

Means instead of creating another lot same sample valuation is done under same inspection lot.

*** BUT this can be done only in below case;

Dependent Double and Multiple Samples

If the result for the current sample lies between the acceptance and rejection number during an attributive inspection, the sample size is increased based on the sampling scheme. If you have recorded results for the new samples, the samples are re-evaluated based on the updated valuation parameters.

Dependent Multiple Samples .

2.There is another way in which this can be handled

Use Conditional Characteristic After Rejection

If you set this indicator for MIC , this conditional inspection characteristic must be inspected, if the previous required characteristic in the operation was valuated with an "R" (rejected).

How it will work: You can assign this MIC after MIC for which you want to have re-sampling.Once that MIC is rejected next MIC will be opened for result recording & you can do RR immediately. You have to make sure that you have different sample size for this MIC ( different acceptance number & rejection number)

Hi Sujit

Your grip on QM is very strong as I observer always. As being main consultant of PP and MM it becomes tough for me to understand this.Any screen shots of SAP will be really helpful for Dependent Multiple samples.

Hello Rajeev,

screenshots will not help you. In order to implement dependent multiple samples you have to understand the concept first. If in doubt, contact your QM department, they should be able to explain you the concept.

You might also consider reading the respective ISO Standard.
