Adding or deleting characteristic from existing PLOB

Hello DP experts

Can you explain the procedure and implications when there is a working PLOB, planning area , planning books and datasources generated. Would deactivating Plob and planning area to delete the data be enough or everything (planning area, books, data sources will need to be deleted as dependencies?

What is different in case of addition as against deletion if at all?

Hi Chaya,

To add new characteristic in MPOS you can have following steps -

• Backup data in planning area to cube
• Delete time series data in planning area
• Add the required characteristic in the MPOS
• Activate the MPOS
• Add the new characteristic in the dependent planning books based on this planning area - just go to change mode in /SAPAPO/SDP8B and new characteristic will be showing in planning area - move that to required planning books and data views
• If you have any backcube based out of this planning area - then you need to add the characteristic in it and activate the Infocube
• For Data source - go to /SAPAPO/SDP_EXTR - give name of planning area and click on Generate and then Replicate data source - this will add the new char. here too
• Load data back to your planning area
