If my SAP application server is running on Windows 2008 r2 but my Database server is running Windows 2012 with SQL 2012, will there be any issues in compatibility?
Dear Omar,
There will be no problem at all. You need to install the MSSQL client 2012 on the window server 2008 R2. You can also check the backward compatibility for MSSQL cleint 2008 with MSSQL 2012 database.

Hi Omar.
It should not be problem. You can install the Application server on Windows 2008 R2, better you can check the SAP version supported or not in PAM. service.sap.com/pam.

No, that should generally be fine. You just need to be able to install the SQL Server 2012 client components on your application server.
Cheers,
Matt
