Does updating material code in MC7A requires Client Opening Everytime

We have implemented SAP in our company recently. As per the consultant for planning whenever we need to update code as per plant in MC7A.

As per consultant for MC7A it requires client opening. As per our IT team it is not a good practice.

Need suggetion on :-

1) What is other option or any other transaction

2) Any other way we can avoid client opening activity

Updating the tale/view(V_T445V) related to transaction MC7A will address your requirement to avoid client opening. You will need access key to get this modification done.

In Transaction SE54, update recording routine to "no, or user, recording routine".

     It is configuration because plant distribution values should not be changed without some sort of change control nor frequently as this can really cause havoc in planning. Having said that you can have your developer/administrator change the view/table so that it is modifiable in production, just be aware that an SAP update can reset the values and you'll need to make them again after an upgrade.
