System Metrics Template Generation Failed Java Lang Errors

Hello Experts,

I am facing errors during the 6th step of Managed configuration.

On running the Generate System- Level Metrics executable, the execution fails with the error mentioned below.

"System -metrics template generation failed (cause :unexpected error occurs in task execution. Detail :java.lang.NullPointerException: while trying to

invoke method java.io.StringReader.close() of a null object loaded  from local variable 'strReader') ,state:4)

Error screenshot has been attached.

Please help me with your valuable inputs.

Can you advise what DPC push errors are present, a screenshot would be helpful.

Hello Tania,

Can you please confirm the system in question in Unicode or non-Unicode system.

If it is Non-Unicode system then please read following SAP note:-

1905902 - JCo: NullPointerException while connecting to non-UC system

Error seems to due to issue with Enterprise manager .have you tried  restarting EM

Please have a check on below notes if they are of help

It is a Unicode system.

Hi Anand,

SAPServiceDAA has full control on the usr\sap\ccms\apmintroscope folder.

Do you have any other suggestions that I can try?

Hi,

Check the agent assignment to EM in configuration of CA interoscope step for basic configuration. You can fix there if that is wrong and generate it again.

Agent assignment looks good.

All the agents i.e. on the EM, BO clusters are active.

No issues with agents.I checked the server name and all other details.

Anything else I need to check?

1. What is LM-SERVICE patch level for you ?

2. SAPSYS group had write permission for the folder /usr/sap/ccms/wilyintroscope/config/ ?

3. Please check the note 1831759 once.

1) Our LM-Service level is mentioned below, any suggestions about this one?

LM-SERVICE

7.10 SP13 (1000.7.10.13.0.20150225005300)

LM-TOOLS

7.02 SP16 (1000.7.02.16.0.20140708084106

2) SAPServiceDAA account has access on all the necessary folders on the EM and BO servers.

3)Wily directory is showing up fine and doesnt seem to be an issue from EM side.
