Error "Error during quantity posting for inspection lot, manual proc. required" in background job for Auto UD.

Hi Guru's,

Our client is using auto UD functionality for UD of finished goods. Auto UD jobs are scheduled in background at every 10 mins.Last week for 6 inspection lots result recording was done on 18.12.2015. All the results were accepted & closed. No defects were recorded for inspection characteristics. In spite of this auto UD for these lots didnt happen on 18.12.2015 which ideally should have been as waiting time in customizing is only one min. For these lots Auto UD was done on 22.12.2015 delayed by 4 days.

We have checked the log in SM37 transaction. For date 22.12.2015 we found in the log an error message " Error during quantity posting for inspection lot, manual proc. required" for these 6 lots. we were not able to see log for dates 18,19,20 & 21 as log was not available. Job was executed on all days.

But on 22.12.2015 in one of the job runs in the afternoon auto UD for these lots happened.

We also checked the log after the UD of these lots & found the above message was not there after the UD of lots.

Program which is used for auto UD is the copy of standard program RQEVAI30.

Is anyone aware of such error in Auto UD program.Is there any lot status or link to other object which is responsible for this error.

As per my understanding, there are so such specific reasons I can think of, which has delayed the UD application for a few inspection lots by 4 days by Auto UD batch job for finished good (stock relevant)...and that too when this job is scheduled to run every 10 mins....

I guess, there may be a few factors which you can double-check:

a) All MIC's are with status "5" (Completed) and "A" (Accepted) so that UD = "A" can be applied. In case if one of the MIC's out of a list of MIC's are "3" (valuated), and not "5", then there can be some issues for the BAPI_INSPLOT_SETUSAGEDECISION to put UD = A. If someone has updated the incomplete record "3" to "5" later, then this issue has been resolved and UD got added by program.

b) There are some locks created at material-plant combination, which got removed later. Only after that UD got applied after 4 days by the same batch jobs...If so, please check what all concurrent processes working in the background [Ex MRP or UD or MM02 or MIGO... ] for that material, at the time when this batch job runs at a specific time [Ex: 10:00 AM, 10:10 AM, 10:20 AM.... check the processes executed at those times...] and this may not be an easy thing to find out... !!

You can expect some better feedback for other experienced consultants in case if they have come across such an issue before.
