SAPSTART NOT WORKING

Hi

We are running Sap Ecc6 (EHP7) With Sybase ASE 15.7.

In our Test server STARTSAP command not working individually.

Its giving error :

No instance profiles found.

please send the tracefile /home/brtadm/startsap.trc to support.

Its working when we mention host name with it (i.e STARTSAP sapbrt).

But couple of days ago its working individually. we didnt require to metion HOSTNAME

separately.

Can any one help me out .

Dear Sambhu,

just cross verify the hostname entry in hosts file. Entry has to be maintained properly against the correct IP address.

Hello,

Please maintain IP address and host name in etc/hosts.

The host name should be same as mentioned in profile.

Here the host name is case sensitive and should be mentioned exactly as mentioned in profile.

Then it will not seek host name while starting the sap.

startsap command is specific to local host...means ...system will verify IPCONFIG for this property.

Hi,

Please see 1888359 - startsap/stopsap 720 - No instance profile found  for the root cause and solution.

SAPSYSTEMNAME  and HOSTNAME are ok. But SAPGLOBALHOST showing nothing.

One thing I should mention SAPGLOBALHOST is defined in Default.PFL.
