64 bit office 2013 with SAP Gui 740

Dear all,

I have a 64 bit Windows 10 with 64 bit office 2013 and SAP Gui 740 installed.  I found that when edit the header text of a PO via ME23N, word editor cannot be launched but it is on if I am using 32 bit office 2013.

May I ask is it 64 bit office 2013 is not supported?

I read from some other post in the forum, 64 bit office is not supported for SAP GUI 730 or before. May I ask is it also not supported for Gui 740?

Hello Sunny

When Desktop Office Integration (DOI) is used, as mentioned in note 722513,

Microsoft Office 2013 (32-bit) requires SAP GUI 7.30 patch level 3, and Microsoft

Office 2013 (64-bit) requires SAP GUI 7.30 patch level 7. But I'm not sure if

When Desktop Office Integration (DOI) is used in this case.

Could you please apply GUI 740 patch 6 and perform a new test? If issue still occurs,

please attach the automation trace and the screenshot of the error screen.

Please refer to note 158985 and provide the automation trace for further analysis:

To run an automation trace, please press ALT + F12 -> Options ->

Trace Tab ->

Please move all existing trace files under trace folder(default path C:\Users\[user ID]\

AppData\Local\SAP\SAP GUI\Traces) to other directory.

After that, put the check Mark in:

[x] Automation

[x] Office integration

[x] Detailed output(on the right side of the screen)

Click "enable" "apply" and "OK"

Then reproduce the issue again and attach the generated trace files from above mentioned trace folder

to the incident. Remember to switch off the trace after you have attached the files.
