Dear Sundhar,

You have to open the production client, go to SE16N, enter the table J_1INEXCGRP and execute. Then you can find "insert row" button enabled, select the button and add your new excise group manually and save it. Now find the same excise group for number range entry in SNRO.

I am really surprised at your comments straightaway asking to open the production client and do corrections and I am afraid whether you practice this method in your project.  Even if some configuration is missing only in production client, you have to create a new transport request in DEV, transport to Quality and finally to production.  Please don't misguide the members with such bad practice.

Dear Lakshmipathi,

I am sorry, if I am wrong. Please go through our SCN forum for the same issue, how people are doing.

When ever we face the same issue, we too search in the forum. Today is not the first day for the same issue.

Pls find the below discussions on SCN for an example from long back.

It doesn't mean that if many people follow wrong practice that will become correct.  Please try to understand the Best Practice of SAP that everybody should follow.  Under whatsoever circumstances, as I already stressed, any configuration issue reflects in PRD and needs some correction, you should start ONLY from DEV and not directly in production client, without knowing the impact.
