Dynamic period Control functionality in meter replacement/ discon/reconn

Hi Experts,

We are using DPC (dynamic period control) in our process. In some case like device replacement or disconnection/reconnection, when current reading is less than the previous estimated reading then bill amount is coming in crores.

Ex.

In the above case (12.12.2015), when we execute billing for dec 2015 the bill amount is coming in crores as meter (meter – 10101682, MR date – 12.08.2015) reading was less than the previous estimated read.

Do we have any solution in standard or any other workaround?

Hi Ankur,

Can you check the enhancement EDMLELDV for your requirement.

You can use SAP Note 398471 for your reference.

Hope it helps...

Thanks,

Hi Amlan,

Thanks for your kind reply!

This enhancement is for independent validations but we need to enhance that point which is calling at creation of billing document.

Hi Ankur,

First would like to know the basic category used by the DPC process. Is it via MRR or in Billing.

Second in your example you have executed device replacement, and as per the MRR with RR 22 is actual and less than the reading with RR 01 and estimated.  This should have triggered the DPC here when billing is executed. I would suggest the following :

Check the line items for the new device , if the consumption is correct. As per your example it should be 2888-2823 = 65. if its correct then the issue is with the replacement not triggering DPC which it should. Check the schema steps and customizing for this.

Executing DPC Billing - Contract Billing - SAP Library

Hope this helps.

Hi Rakesh,

we have configured MT as Z5 (category 01) and this MT we are using for device replacement.

Hence DPC is not working properly as it considers MT as 01 only not Z5 even category is same for both.

So do we have any option (any exit available) to change so that Z5 can be used when executing DPC.
