PREP_INSTALL/RUN_RSPTBFIL_SPACE - Error during DMO for SUM

Hi guys

While performing an Upgrade/Migration of a SAP NW 7.31 to 7.5 based in HANA, SUM tool stops in step PREP_INSTALL/RUN_RSPTBFIL_SPACE

In the log is shown an error in the job "RSPTBFIL"

     The ABAP/4 Open SQL array insert results in duplicate database records.

What happened?

     Error in the ABAP Application Program

     The current ABAP program "RSPTBFIL" had to be terminated because it has

     come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.

Error analysis

    An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.

    The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB', was not caught

     in

    procedure "ADD_BASIS_ORIG" "(FORM)", nor was it propagated by a RAISING clause.

    Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the

    exception would occur, the current program is terminated.

    The reason for the exception is:

    If you use an ABAP/4 Open SQL array insert to insert a record in

    the database and that record already exists with the same key,

    this results in a termination.

    (With an ABAP/4 Open SQL single record insert in the same error

    situation, processing does not terminate, but SY-SUBRC is set to 4.)

Information on where terminated

    Termination occurred in the ABAP program "RSPTBFIL" - in "ADD_BASIS_ORIG".

    The main program was "RSPTBFIL ".

    In the source code you have the termination point in line 3520

    of the (Include) program "RSPTBFIL_ORG".

    The program "RSPTBFIL" was started as a background job.

    The termination is caused because exception "CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB" occurred in

    procedure "ADD_BASIS_ORIG" "(FORM)", but it was neither handled locally nor

     declared

    in the RAISING clause of its signature.

    The procedure is in program "RSPTBFIL "; its source code begins in line

    3452 of the (Include program "RSPTBFIL_ORG ".

Tried to find a SAP note regarding this, but none of them applies to this scenario. Any hint of what could be causing this?

I have performed a previous upgrade for a copy of this system and this error did not occur.

I understand its an error with a duplicated entry, but could not find which table is the culprit and how to overcome this.

After applying latest Kernel 721_EXT patch 619 including DBSL Lib released Dec 25th, I was able to overcome this issue.

From short dump found that there was duplicate entry for one of Z-view and it was due to modified (not active) view. After activating  Z-view duplicate entry issue was resolved and was able to move forward with upgrade step.

Hi Martin,

The runtime error you have faced might have caused due to issue with the previous steps or a bug with the SUM tool.Hence it is necessary to access the system to debug the case.Please raise a message to us under the component BC-UPG-TLS-TLA to narrow down the problem.

Thanks Anand. I just opened a new incident in SAP

I wanted to know if this was bug-related issue within SUM, so I downloaded SUM 1 SP15 PL8 and started a new Upgrade on a different host, and bumped with the same error.

Tried to see program RSPTBFIL and error seems to be located in table PUTTB_SHD, where it writes information about shadow tables, but not sure what is wrong?

I hope Christiane can help me out since is the author of the program.
