Hi Gurus,
Need your help with this scenario.
BOM structure
BOM Level
0 Header material (KMAT) A MRP type (PD)
1 Phantom material (HALB) P LRP type (X0) Planning strategy 59
2 Component of header material (HALB) C1
Dependent demand for phantom material is not consuming the phantom assembly forecast. Expectation is that a planned order for material A will create a demand for the phantom material which will consume the forecast. We can see the dependent demand generated for the phantom in ECC but not in APO. Because dependent demand is missing in APO no forecast consumption at the phantom assembly level takes place. I would see dependent demand at component level for the planned order of material A but why we cannot see dependent demand for phantom.
Configuration values are seamlessly flowing to planned order for material A in APO.
All IMs are in place. Queue is clear.
Can you please advise are there any specific setting in APO that I need to check in order to see dependent demand for the phantom.
Thanks in advance,
Asim
Hi Asim,
Can you check the PDS of the Finished Product in APO and validate that you see the expected structure with phantom assembly indicator.

Asim,
The Dependent demand for phantom assembly is in ECC but not in APO which means that the Dependent demand may not not CIF'd to APO. You can start with CFM5 in ECC by choosing the phantom material and all transaction data and then perform a CIF Reconciliation in APO. Can you look up the phantom material in RRP3 view at the location where the PDS exists. Another approach would be to look up the pegging relationship for a Planned Order of Material A and see if has components along with phantom material.

Hi Asim,
In PP/DS, a dependent demands are not created for the phantom product itself in standard, it is not expected that planning activities will take place for the phantom. Rather, only for the components are dependent demands generated.
This is described in SAP Help below:
Phantom Assembly - Integrated Product and Process Engineering (iPPE) - SAP Library
"Phantom assemblies do not trigger any dependent requirements. Only the components of the phantom assembly trigger dependent requirements."

Tiago
