Dear experts

We are upgraded to our oracle database from 10.2.0.5  to oracle 12.1.0.2  operating system Suse Linux enterprise 11SP4 and SAP kernel version 722EXT

( also upgrade Kernel from 701 SP 150 )our Abap version and Basis Version  is SAP_ABA    701    0010    SAPKA70110   and SAP_BASIS    701    0010    SAPKB70110 .

1. after upgrade oracle we have many dumps in st22 DDIC_TYPELENG_INCONSISTENT

2. is oracle 12c supported with ECC6.0 EHP1 ( Because as per sap document sap kernel version 7.1 EXT minimum require ) kindly also guide related to       our current sap version with oracle 12c.

we have to down times given by management for upgrade we are plan to upgrade our current sap to EHP7 ( EHP7 not supported to oracle 10.2 ) so this is mandatory to upgrade sap database with SSFS in step one we upgrade oracle database and implement SSFS authentication . then after one month we have 2nd down time then  we upgrade to EHP7.

Best Regards

Thanks for yours reply

as per sapnote 0001610716 we run report RUT_NOTE_1610716 in se38 the output of this report is

as per oracle database upgrade Document Version 1.10  2015-10-22 at page number 7

"Oracle Database 12c Release 1 (12.1) is only released and certified for SAP products running with SAP BASIS 7.00 and above, and SAP kernel release 7.21 EXT and above."

I meet the requirement why it's happen and the above list ( in screenshot ).

and if I run repair  then what is the impact in system

Hi,

The errors are not because of oracle upgrade, but kernel upgrade.

Try running the report in check and repair mode as the errors are very few in number.

Run the report after business hours.

Prithviraj.

Shahid,

If you read the note 1610716,

This is caused due to ""A structure or table with includes has an incorrectly alignment to length 2 in the first field of the an include. In the case of the use of the downward-compatible kernel 7.20 (or above), a short dump occurs when this type is used in ABAP programs, for example, the short dump DDIC_TYPELENG_INCONSISTENT"

Once you run Check and repair the wrong aligned tables will be activated with warnings.

The preconditions, dependencies for various OS and DB specific notes have been mentioned in the sap note suggested.
