PSE file lost - how to recreate?

Hi everybody,

We have a wildcard certificate for *.domain.tld. The server, which was used to create the CSR for this certificate, is no longer available.

Anyway, I have the CSR, the private key and the intermediate certificates.

Is there any way to create a PSE which can be used on a NetWeaver server? I searched for days now, but cannot find the right approach.

I really don't want to buy all new certificates.

Thanks in advance!

Regards,

Andreas

Hello Andreas,

You would have to create a new PSE file as if it was the first / initial one, creating the certificate request, sending it for your CA to sign it, and importing the CA response along with the intermediate certificates.

This is the only way to create a PSE file.

Hi Isaías,

Thank you for your answer.

Does that mean that a wildcard certificate, which was not generated using a SAP server, could not be used within SAP systems in general?

Andreas

Hello Andreas,

That is correct.

You cannot import an already signed certificate into a PSE file.

You need to generate a new certificate request and ask your CA to sign it.

Isaías
