Hi,

I am doing a GST review. Since GST is already implemented in Malaysia, I would like to know the cutover activities that might be required when GST is implemented in India.

Kindly share your view from Indian perspective. How we do migration from current CIN method to GST.

Hi Vijay,

There are 4 processes involved in GST Roll- Out.

1. Registration

2. Payment

3. Refund

4. Return

You can refer the link http://dor.gov.in/scgst#sthash.X2TLjH8h.dpuf , it has a PDF document for each process that is gonna be followed with all planned rules and regulations by Revenue Dept.

But Looks like there will be Phase-wise roll-out gonna happen for GST, April 2016 will be only for Registration process.

Thank You !

Hi Vijay,

As per my understanding, there is no clarity whether India's GST will be same as Malaysia's GST. For that possible scenarios in Indian GST, you can Google with search term, "how does GST will work in India".

Moreover, as like any other previous Legal change in India. Definitely, there will be SAP Note/Communication(SAP Note 2194689 - IN - Goods and service tax) would be there, when GST will come in existence that to be in line with Govt of India circular. Further, if I'm not mistaken already lot of discussion/workshop are carried out by SAP for GST.

Goods and Services Tax Network ( GSTN - http://www.gstn.org/Organization-Profile.html ) is one of the organisation that is assisting Indian Govt in getting GST implementated. GTSN has been set up primarily to provide IT infrastructure and services to the Central and State Governments, tax payers and other stakeholders for implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST).

Also, refer CBEC website for further information on GST - http://www.cbec.gov.in/htdocs-cbec/gst

Hope that helps.

Thanks, JP
