Work Manager6.2 application sync issue

Hi Experts,

We are encountering an issue with the Work Manager application sync.We are downloading the orders based on the "Operation Level Work Center"  assignment. The application is not downloading to the device even though there are only 40 work orders.

We have encountered even MEMORY_NO_MORE_PAGING in back end ECC. As a work around solution, we have restarted the SMP server. After that the issue has been resolved. But on the continuous usage of the application, we are encountering the same issue again the orders are not downloading to the device. In SMP server logs, the session has been ended for the user.Frequently SAP Paging overflow error is encountered in the device iPad.

We are using SMP 3.0 SP09 PL01, SMP 3.0 SDK SP10 PL01 with the Agentry Client Version 70.10.5.4.Additionally in SMP server log When the Get Work Orders is executed, I could see RFC_AGE_ECC ending message for the user

Requesting suggestion/inputs for the same.

Requesting your suggestion.

Thanks & Regards,

Padmavathi

This sounds like it might be related to the JCo connections not closing.  Have you checked SM04 to see if your connections are building up without closing?

If this is the issue then there is a fix available under the SAP Note 2256914.  This affects all the SAP backend Agentry applications.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for the response. We did apply the Note 2256914.But still facing the issue(Client Not Logged into server) when downloading the orders. There are around 30 orders to be synced to the device. On further analysis,we could see that the work order class get_object_hierarchy method is taking long time to execute in back end.

Kindly suggest.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks & Regards,

Padma

Padma,

Two other suggestions to try.  First is to work with the Basis team to troubleshoot why that method is taking so long to execute on the backend.  It may be that you need an additional index or something to help speed that up.  Second, in the Management Cockpit under your application App Specific Settings and the Server section there is an Inactive Timeout which is defaulted to 600 seconds.  You can try increasing this number so that the backend has more time to complete the execution and see if that helps as well.

Even if the second option solves the immediate issue I would still recommend pursuing the first one.

Hi Bill,

Many thanks for the response. We could see that this method(get_object_hierarchy) is additionally added in WM6.2 which is retrieving equipment's associated to functional location. And for these 30 orders, there are around 50 functional locations retrieved each having around 500-28000 equipment's.And the method execution halts in debugging at a specified FL.When we try to fetch the equipment for this FL in back end, received time out error.Kindly suggest.

Second we have verified the inactive time out setting in management cockpit under"Application settings tab->Server". This is set to 600.Kindly suggest the appropriate value that can be set in this parameter.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks & Regards,

Padma

Padma,

Hi. Based on your statement "But still facing the issue(Client Not Logged into server) when downloading the orders."

We are also releasing a new SMP 3.0 runtime server SP10 PL01 (This first quarter - January'ish to February'ish) that has a fix tied to sockets not being closed - which affects performance and disconnects. This could affect the disconnects tied to your statement above.

Another idea:

- Double check your /SYCLO/MDW02 table and do a count in the backend. See if it has a large count. It should be around the expected number of workorders for your total users (Ex: If you have 100 users with 10 workorders each that is 1000 - so your table should be around that number +/- some deltas) - so if it is big or too big then that is a flag (may need to start deleting items based on dates).

This is in addition to the suggestions above.

We are also facing a similar issue.Kindly suggest might be it is related to the Agentry Client Versions.

Requesting suggestions for the compatible Agentry Client Version of  SMP 3.0 SP09 PL01, SMP 3.0 SDK SP10 PL01.

Sravathi,

Please open a new thread as you issue is different than the OP.  This way anyone else having the same issue as you would be able to get the correct answer.
