SLD Migration

Hi All,

We need to migrate SLD server NW 7.31 SP4 from Unix to Linux and upgrade it to NW 7.4.

We are looking for two approaches -

1) Install new SLD server on Linux and Migrate SLD data to this new NW 7.4 SLD Application.

2) Perform Upgrade and Migration of SLD server.

What do you suggest, which approach is best and any information to support it.

Hi Shivam,

If you don't have any business usage than SLD on the system, easiest way is to setup new system on Linux and establish a bridge between old systems and new one. One fine day, you can update all connections from old system to the new one.

As per my understanding business systems cannot be exported, only technical systems will be exported.

So if I have to do it I will setup bridge between existing SLD and new system. Once technical systems are available I will create business systems.

Then remove bridge and update all satellite systems to point to new SLD.
