Which client is advisable to use in SAP PI?

Dear Experts,

In all the projects I have worked I have been given PI server after installation and have been asked to make XYY (eg 100, or 200 or 300) as the client to work on, and accordingly I do post installation on that client.

But we know 001 is the default client on installation.

But recently I have been asked by one basis person, who is working on PI for the first time , if there is any best practice which says not to use 001 as working client? I have seen client as 001 and 200 and 300 too in many clients PI system.

Hi Dilip,

After you install the system you will have 001 default client for copying to other clients, best practice is to copy the 001 client to other client and configure the system.

Hello Dilip,

200 is for development and quality.

400 for production.
