SAP Connect (SCOT) Monitoring

We use solution manager 7.1 SP13.

We want to monitor outgoing fax/mails (transaction scot) and get an alert if the backlog is too large or if the status of 1 or more items is red.

Is this possible with technical monitoring (MAI)? How?

If not: what else can you do?
