Hi
I have heard that SAP HANA can be installed even on 64 GB of RAM by making changes to the python script. I need to know has anyone achieved it and if yes, how this can be done ..
Thanks
Hello Imran,
HANA DB Instance does not require alot of memory.
You can install it even on 20 GB memory linux system.
Memory consumption is changind according to your databases and data you load into HANA DB and memory. If your data is less than 64 GB you can use a system with this kind of config.
SAP recommends to install HANA DB on certified hardware. This is also not compulsory. But especially for production systems you have to use recommendations.
You donot need to use python to change memory config. HANA takes 90% of physical memory as limit for global_allocation_limit parameter. (rule for global_allocation_limit memory parameter is set, 90% for less than 64 GB memory, over 64 GB + 97% of each GB)
