SAP PI vs Fiorano middleware

Hi,

I am consulting a client with on their to-be application landscape. They have SAP ECC and are using Fiorano middle-ware to connect SAP with an in-house Java based front end.

Users of the front end (web-browser) can do things like enter a sales order and request for invoice etc. The client also has SAP PI which is utilized for integration with some apps outside the organization.

Fiorano integration involves encapsulation of SAP BAPIs and using XSLT transformations between SAP and the front end web-browser app.

I am exploring the option to recommend a rationalization of their middle-ware stack.i.e. replacing Fiorano with SAP PI for integration with the in-house front end app mentioned earlier.

I need business and technical benefits which i can use to justify this recommendation.

Would appreciate it if the community can help me out.

Hi Rohan

While it is possible to use PI for integration between ECC and web front end, AFAIK SAP is positioning as the tool of choice to expose ECC functionality for consumption by external systems.
