HANA SPS10 Instance Inactive

Hi Team,

We are facing problem with SPS10 instance and symptoms are as below.

  1. Instance become inactive for some time. Only after restarting, it started working again
  2. CPU usage is inconsistent and goes up to 90-100% randomly which in turn slows the entire instance
  3. We also got the following kinds of alerts with varying values :
    1. “You are using 156.51% of licensed main memory. Licensed main memory: 64 GB, size of used memory pool: 100.17 GB.”
    2. “hdbhost runs out of CPU resources! CPU consumption user mode 99%, system mode 0%, wio 0%, idle 1%”

  Disk usage is very high despite clearing old log files. However, this status not updated in studio


Also, log file as seen from HANA Server location /var/spool/mail/ with the file named as root has following issues:

  1. * 129: transaction rolled back by an internal error: "SCHEMA"."TABLE": line 200 col 2 (at pos 5627): [129] (range 3): transaction rolled back by an internal error: exception 1000002: exception 1000002:

  1. * 129: transaction rolled back by an internal error: AttributeEngine: not enough memory SQLSTATE: 40000

  1. * -10709: Connection failed (RTE:[89006] System call 'connect' failed, rc=111:Connection refused)

  1. * 4: cannot allocate enough memory: Allocation failed $REASON$ SQLSTATE: HY000

Hi Karthik,

Can you please provide more details like-

1. HANA One version

2. What Addons are installed

3. Is the CPU, Mem, Disk on the HANA One Console showing ok?

Also, please use 'support chat/private chat' to send a message so that someone can look at the issue.

Hi Mandar Khadilkar,

1. We are using HANA SPS10 Developer edition, not HANA One.

2. We use DP agent(file adapter) along with this instance.

3. We saw a pattern where memory usage by index server keeps increasing from starting of the instance until it reaches maximum allocated memory(around after 6-9 hours) and never comes down; which in-turn causes instance to be inactive.

Only after restarting instance from AWS console it is coming back to normal.

Could you please help me with the 'support chat/private chat' process?

Karthik,

Your instance being Dev edition, we cant assist you much here.

Along with HANA, HANA One (which is AWS Marketplace product) offers a very easy to use Admin Console for administration.

There, you would see mem and CPU for HANA. We also have a 'support chat/private chat' integrated for you to send info needed to support you but you can not share in public forum.

So, I recommend that you start a HANA One (one of the 60Gib, 122Gib, 244Gib) from AWS Marketplace, and then we can see what is going on.
