Hi Experts,

Can Joint Venture Accounting (JVA) be configured and used with standard ERP - S4HANA or ECC 6.0 or SoH? Do we need to necessarily buy IS-Oil to use the JVA function for players in the upstream sector of the Oil and Gas industry?

Regards

John

Hi John,

SAP Joint Venture Accounting (JVA) is part of Industry Solution : IS-Oil.

As of SAP ERP 6.0 enhancement package 6 the business function JVA, Integration with New General Ledger Accounting is available.

As far as SAP JVA with S/4 HANA Finance is concerned, probably that can be said from two ways:

  • In case of Classical JVA the standard migration of G/L & CO data to the Universal Journal Entry with the JVA Characteristics. Also it was the case of split logic in Joint Venture Ledger by Integration Manager.

Separate closing is required for G/L and in Joint Venture.

So far as Enhanced JVA is concerned:

  • Controlling, Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet by JVA Characteristics in Universal Journal Entry is available.
  • It is possible to reconcile Joint Venture Accounting (Ledger 4A, Talbe - JVSO1) and Universal Journal Entry (Table - ACDOCA).
  • JVA specific operations integrated with FI.

If we talk about JVA integration with Fixed Asset, separate Asset History Sheet for Venture owned assets and operators share are possible from S/4 Hana Simple finance point of view.

Thanks & Regards
