SAP PI 7.4 AEX - non Central Adapter Engine - configuration and SSL certificates

Hello Experts,

we're installing a non central adapter engine (DAE) beside our existing PI 7.4 AEX (SP9).

What are the key actions necessary to make the DAE visible in our PO system and enable message flow between PO and DAE?

Is there something else ?

Another question is regarding the creation of SSL certificate for the DAE instance.

The internal hostname of DAE is xyzdevdae.example.local

Exposed hostname of DAE is devdae.example.com 

I would assume to create a certificate with SAN (Subject alternative names) to match the different hostnames.

Are certificates with SAN supported by SAP PI ?

Are there requirements to the Service Patch Level of the non central adapter engine?

Must it be on same level as the central PO instance?

In the meantime i found article which describes the creation of a SAN certificate signing request .

Anybody knows about the requirements of SP of non central adapter engine?

Need the SP  to be equal to the central PO instance?
