SAP DMS /BASIS

Does providing the authorization such as creating roles and profiles comes under SAP BASIS/SECURITY.? if so i do have heard that DMS consultant also provide certain authorization to users..please help me to understand how both differs each other, Thanks for your support

I'm not quite sure, if I understand your question. However the authorizations in SAP usually managed by the Basis/Security team. They are responsible for proper authorization of the users. In the role of an DMS Consultant you should support the Basis/Security team in proper assignment of DMS related authorization objects. In terms of DMS following authorization object comes into play:

C_DRAD_OBJ	CV	Create/Change/Display/Delete Object Link
C_DRAW_BGR	CV	Authorization for authorization groups
C_DRAW_DOK	CV	Authorization for document access
C_DRAW_MUP	CV	Authorization for Markups
C_DRAW_STA	CV	Authorization for document status
C_DRAW_TCD	CV	Authorization for document activities
C_DRAW_TCS	CV	Status-Dependent Authorizations for Documents
C_DRZA_TCD	CV	Document Distribution: Authorization for Recipient Lists
C_DRZI_TCD	CV	Document Distribution: Authorization for Distribution Order
