How to check the system type?

Hi SAP Experts,

How can I know one system is an   ABAP system   or    java system    or   ABAP+Java system?

Hi Zhongwei,

You can go to the folder /usr/sap/<SID>, and check the below points.

1.  If you can find both folders named ASCS* and SCS*,  it's a dual-stack system.

2.  If you can only find an folder named ASCS*,  it's an ABAP system.

3.  If you can only find an folder named SCS*, it's a Java system.

There is no both folders:

$ pwd

/usr/sap/DSA

$ ls

DVEBMGS00  SYS

Hi Zhongwei,

It seems your system is with quite old version.

In SAP system with old release,  ASCS is not separated from DVEBMGS00.  So for this kind of old system, if no SCS* folder,  the system should be ABAP only system.
