Hi Experts,
I am currently working on requirement where the scenario goes like this, a nominal % of stock on hand at a particular location should be reserved for a particular high priority customer's future sales order. The setup is like a single plant is shared by a high priority customer and a collection of other customers. The % for both is calculated with the help of sales history. The stock on hand for that particular period should be divided between the high and normal customers before the sales orders are generated so the low priority customers will not be able to access the actual stock in the DC other than the allocated quantity. Can the actual stock existing in the DC be shared between the high and low priority customers? If possible please suggest how to do so.
Thanks and Regards,
dinesh.
Another option ... Use the APO GATP Product Allocation function. With this feature, you could basically specify how much does each of your customer (or grouping) gets. If the allocation is exceeded, the sales order will respond accordingly (i.e. Warning, Error, or suggesting partial quantities).
You could always adjust the allocation quantity as needed.

Dinesh,
Just a thought:
You can split the stock into two storage locations in that plant (DC) itself. First Sloc for high priority customer and another Sloc for low priority customer.
DC (Plant) | |
SLOC1 | SLOC2 |
High Prio Customer | Low Prio Customer |
Let us know if it helped.
Regards
Rahul
