error reading job log in sm37,failed to diaplay job log. Please suggest how to troubleshoot.
There were two Application servers on that SID. The job log was only viewed from the application server where it was executed since the /sapmnt/sid/ was not globally mounted & the job log was not in sync.

Hi,
Joblogs are stored on a filesystem not in the SAP database.
The problem will probably be there.
Possible reasons are :
1/
The filesystem used to store the joblogs is full.
2/
You are running multiple application servers on different host and the global filesystem containing the joblogs is not mounted on every host.
3/
The SAP system is refreshed or moved to another host and the global filesystem containing the joblogs was not copied.
4/
Someone deleted the joblogs in the filesystem ! ! !
Filesystem (directory) on UNIX where you will find the joblogs is :
/sapmnt/<SYSID>/global/xxxJOBLG
Replace <SYSID> with your system ID and xxx by the client.
On the global fileystem there is a directory per client containing the joblogs.

Hi,
For job log troubleshooting, I believe you will get the answer from following wiki page:
Job Log - Typical issues - Application Server Infrastructure - SCN Wiki
Meanwhile, there is job wiki:
SAP Background Processing - Application Server Infrastructure - SCN Wiki
I believe you will get benefit from it when you have job(BC-CCM-BTC) issues.
Best regards,
Shi Feng

Hello Danashree,
a possible cause is described in the note:
http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1936215
and is solved in a kernel patch.
Please search with "error reading job log" in the SAP notes on BC-CCM-BTC components and you will find further notes and further reasons for the error.
