REMICL - change of the Classic Contract numbers

Hi, I am in the process of doing a migration from Classic RE to REFX and was wondering how will I go about changing the contract numbers for the new REFX contracts?  Is it as simple as just defining the new number ranges and it is dealt with as part of the migration or would I need a program to change the numbers and put the old number in the Old Contract field?

Any thoughts or comments will be greatly appreciated!

Hi CM,

This is a purely business call.

1. In one of my project, we kept the contract number range as external number and used the legacy contract number in the system. After migration, we once again changed the number to internal. When changing the number to internal, ensure that number range status should be the last contract number which is consumed during migration.

2. In another experience, we kept the number range as internal and updated the legacy contract number in the new contract in the filed old contract.

This should have been penned down during cutover strategy.
