capacity check by storage unit type in WM

Hi Friends,

I face a problem in capacity check by storage unit type during inbound.

I create a storage type with putaway strategy strategy C, and activate the SU management and SUT check. The details are giving below.

Putaway strategy          C

Capacity check method        5

Dst bin ch. during confirm 1

Mixed storage              A

Addn to stock          Blank

In the MMR I also maintain the Palatalization data, 2KG = IP

Create 3 bin A,B,C and in the bin I mention the Total capacity 5.

Now when I create the TO for 12 kg, system propose all the stock in bin A instead of placing 5 qty in A and 1 in B

Please help whats settings I miss......

Hi

Why are you using C-open Storage as a placement strategy with multiple bins ? Open storage is usually a single bin, with mixed storage allowed and no limits (weight, volume or qty).

If you are looking to control the bin qty by SU, try capacity check 2.

Actually my requirement is to store the material in SU level where 1 bin can accommodate 3 SU and another bin can accommodate 5 SU and when the bin limit is exceed, system automatically propose the next bin.

What's the difference between capacity check 2 and 5

Hi

Placement strategy C is not right for this requirement. As standard, an 'open' storage type can have multiple sections, but each section only has one bin.

Have a look at OSS Note 392776 which details each capacity check method in detail.

Cheers
