Hi guys..
hope you guys r doing good.
Currently we are using jdk "1.4.2.26" version. so we are planning to upgrade it to higher version. So to which version we can upgrade it ?
Kindly suggest with necessary steps.
We are using netweaver 7.0 and our kernel release is 700.
Plus is it necessary to upgrade kernel or patch alongside java upgrade??
Any document will be helpful too.

Hello Abhinav,
Please check out this note: 1495160 - SAP JVM as replacement for Partner JDKs.
It explains that you have to use a SAP JVM, instead of partner JDKs. SAP JVM is also a JDK.
Please go to the Support portal browse the catalog and locate your product,
eg: SAP NetWeaver and complementary products -> SAP NetWeaver -> SAP NETWEAVER 7.0 -> SAP JVM 4.1.
You can download the corresponding JVM from here.
The JVM has no dependency in the kernel, however you should check the PAM matrix prior upgrading the JVM. It is also recommended to go for the latest kernel.
Best Regards,
Peter
