EHS QM Interface Functionality

Hi All,

I have a query with regards to EHS QM interface functionality wherein the requirement is to pass on phrase and phrase set data from EHS system to QM system. I understand that phrases and phrase sets are converted to code and code groups by the interface when an inspection plan is created. Following are the steps i have performed.

Step 1 : Created characteristics in Tcode CT04 and assigned it to class in CL02 of class type 100.

Step 2 : Created phrases and assigned to phrase set and performed CGAB (phrase set attribute assignment). Phrases are created for phrase set and the same is available in characteristics say.. Color

Step 3 : In CGQM created inspection characteristics for the VATS and characteristics and the created master inspection characteristics is now available in QS23.

Step 4 : Created Inspection methods in Tcode QS31 and assigned inspection methods to Master inspection characteristics. The same inspection methods i have maintained in phrase header for the QM specific characteristics i.e.. Phrase

Step 5 : In CG02 i selected the specification and selected QM inspection plan creation under Extras tab and the job triggered successfully and the same i can see in EHQL log which show inspection plan log generation as succesfull.

Step 6 : In QP02 i am not able to see inspection characteristics instead i am manually maintaining and also phrase and phrase sets are not converted to code and code groups.

Please suggest if a am missing any steps as i have done all necessary configurations relating to number ranges and environment parameters..

The concept here is creating inspection plan from external source via.. TCode QP21S by mentioning data origin as EH&S and interface fetches the data from specification and creates inspection plan.

Please suggest if i am following the correct procedure.

never used this functionality. BUt I have doubts in your explanation:

=> why did you did it like that? (e.g. check Processing of Characteristics - EH&S-QM Interface - SAP Library) (and what have you done with Class and characteristic???) This step is missing...

Step 2 : Created phrases and assigned to phrase set and performed CGAB (phrase set attribute assignment). Phrases are created for phrase set and the same is available in characteristics say.. Color => same as before (check: Processing of Characteristics - EH&S-QM Interface - SAP Library)

Coming back to:

a.) did you prepreaed "useful" usage (and you have done correct customizin (for rating (as part of the usage)!!)

b.) you should use "debug" to check what the system is doing

High level: datra from the specification is read. Then a mapping is done using e..g material number assigned to the specification etc.

Thanks for your valuable feedback and quick response.

First, of all i would like to summarize the steps that i have done.

Step 1 : Just to clear your query at step 1 What have you done with class and characteristics??? Class characteristics say for eg..  State of Matter ZSAP_EHS_XXX_XXX_Stateofmatter which is maintained for specification in a property tree along with  VATS ZSAP_EHS_XXX_XXX  which were created in step 1 is mapped with master inspection characteristics (QM specific) in the mapping table CGQM. There by we are mapping Class characteristics which is of EHS relevant to Master inspection characteristics of QM relevant.

Step 2 : I have performed this step as the characteristics of concern is Qualitative characteristics for which I defined a phrase for characteristics and assigned inspection method at header level along with plant which in turn I specified inspection methods in Master inspection characteristics.

Now,  Phrases and phases sets should be converted to code and code groups once an inspection plan is created in CG02 screen). I can see the inspection plan created successfully as the jobs is running successfully and a log created in TCode EHQL.

But, when I check in QP02 I can see inspection plan created successfully but code and code groups are not available for the inspection plan.

Step 5 : Under the usage tab I used Rating as QM, Validity area category as PLANT and validity area as 1100 which means this characteristics is QM relevant and should undergo Quality inspection.

Also, I have followed the steps which you have specified as a link.

Please suggest as to how I need to proceed further.
