Mapping or no mapping

Hi Experts,

I am just need to take a file from one FTP to another, should I use Message Mapping or not?

Hi Blue,

Since this is a pass-through scenario, you can just configure in integration directory. There is no need for repository objects.

What you saying is only use MM when data manipulation is needed, right?

Not only message mapping, the same concept also applies to java, xslt and abap mappings

If your source message is exactly going to the target message then there is no mapping involved.

Thank you Harish, that is very good to know on keep the same file name. I think our PI envirement probably does not have this capability yet, since we are using SP 5. The same file name comes with SP 14.

Just to double check are you on XI 3.0 sp5? because limitation is for XI 3.0.

Then the blog will work for your requirment. you don't need ESR if you are just passing one file from source to target (without any modification) with same name.
