Who can explain the difference between the above mentioned? Please give an simple example with reference to the real business, so that we can easily understand the meaning. Thanks in advance.
Taxonomy is a hierarchical field that is used in data classification. The main difference between a taxonomy and a simple hierarchy is that taxonomy nodes can have 'attributes' attached to it whereas the nodes of a simple hierarchy can not have 'attributes' associated with them.
Normally taxonomy nodes are also refered to as categories.
