Hi Blue,
As you have created a data type with 400 fields it is difficult to pinpoint the error.
You need to create the data type again with smaller number of fields. You can start with 10 fields then again add 10 more and continue. After addition of 10 fields activate the same.
I understand you will be wondering that all your labour is lost and creating again is a huge task.
In the place where you created the data type there is corresponding XSD code. That is nothing but xml. Copy the code in notepad , save it as .xsd or .xml file. Try to open the file using XML editor. It will show you the error where the xml went wrong. Correct the same and reimport the xml into your xsd. For example see this data type below
If I click on XSD it shows me the xml corresponding to data type. The Arrow shows that instead of creating from ESR we can export/import the xml from notepad after correction.
you need to correct the old XSD in xml editor , and import it again back in data type definition.
This will help you resolve the issue quickly. Foe example I am altering the xsd shown above here
I have changed the field name to "Install". I am importing this xml in my data type using the same tab
After import data type changes

Anupam

Hi,
you can expand the error by clicking the left side of error. That will provide the more information about the field giving problem.
