Want to clone sap system with oracle database

Hi

I am having solaris 10 as OS , and Oracle as Database on my SAP system

now i want to clone whole SAP for testing purpose for some hardware and software combination on the same server

i want production data to be test on different SAN but server would be same

Please provide me the exact steps to follow

Hi Shefali,

If I understood your question correctly then you need to ask your Server admin to replicate your SAP and database file systems to new server. There you can change its SID and start your system.

Steps would be as below:

1. Server teams has to build a new server with a capacity to hold production data.

2. All SAP and DB related file systems needs to be replicated.

3. SID changes at OS level.

4. DB name changes (SID) at DB level.

4. Profile changes

5. Start DB and SAP with new SID and perform testing.
