Characteristics Value Search Help in SO

Is there anyway to activate a search help for a characteristic's values in configuration screen by desc or value ?

Hi Muhammad,

You can achieve this by not selecting the tick mark for "Display Allowed Values" under "Addnl Data" tab of the characteristic.

Please go to the T.Code CT04. Enter your characteristic name. Click on Change.

Click on Values. Make sure you maintain values here. Goto Addnl Data tab.

Don't tick for three check boxes under "Procedure for value assignment" sub tab.

You will see these values under F4 help in the Sales Order.

Dear Mohan,

Sorry I expressed wrongly, what i need is the ability to search with characteristics value desc in so configuration screen like when we search for a material with its desc or customer with its name.

Hi Muhammad,

It is not possible to search for a characteristic based on its value description in "Characteristic value assignment" screen of the sales order.

You might be aware that some of the characteristics can be hidden due to object dependencies, so this facility is not provided by SAP in this screen.

Instead, you can find the characteristic name from the table level.

Please pass the description to the table CAWNT and get the internal numbers. Pass it to CABN to get the characteristic name. If you want description of the characteristic,  get it from CABNT.
