orasid: PATH to /usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/uc/rs6000_64 is missing

Hello,

on a new installed Netweaver 7.4 system I miss path "/usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/uc/rs6000_64" in environment. So user orasid can't execute brtools. I have got to go into directory /usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/uc/rs6000_64 to execute ./brtools. User sidadm has got no problems.

I compared both environments via env:

User sidadm has got path:

PATH=/oracle/SID/112_64/bin:/usr/bin:/etc:/usr/sbin:/usr/ucb:/home/sidadm/bin:/usr/bin/X11:/sbin:.:/usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/uc/rs6000_64:/usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/run:/home/sidadm

User orasid has got path:

PATH=/oracle/SID/112_64/bin:/usr/bin:/etc:/usr/sbin:/usr/ucb:/usr/bin/X11:/sbin:/usr/java5/jre/bin:/usr/java5/bin

diff /home/sidadm/.dbenv.sh /oracle/SID/.dbenv.sh => identical

Where do I have to maintain PATH variable for orasid?

Regards,

Julia

Hello,

thank you all for your hints, notes and tipps.

Im my case I now copied file .sapenv_hostname.sh, .profile from sidadm directory into /oracle/SID and now it works. User orasid can execute brtools.

Seems like .sapenv* was not created correctly with Installation.

Hello Julia,

Your environment is built up by parsing the .profile or .login file. From there the various other .xxx scripts are called.

If you are using the ksh then try ". ./.profile" and see if your environment gets set properly ("source .login" for csh).

Please check the existence of .sapenv* , .dbenv* files in the /oracle/XXX directory.

Hello Julia,

Logon to server as orasid user. Goto 'Computer' -> Right click and 'Properties' -> Click on 'Advanced System Settings' -> Click on 'Environment Variables'. You will be able to view 'User variables for orasid'. Edit 'PATH' variable there.

It would require server reboot for changes to reflect.

Thanks.
