Hi,
I am confused between MDN and EDI 997.
What is the difference between both and when do we use?
Are there are any more acknowledgements EDI provides?
Thank you.
Hi Vijay,
997 - The EDI 997 transaction set, known as the Functional Acknowledgment or FA, is sent as a response to other EDI transactions received. An EDI 997 serves as a receipt, to acknowledge that an EDI transaction, or a group of transactions, was received by the remote party.
It provides the message is received and processed by the receiver.
MDN - Message dispatch notification. this indicates that message is sent to receiver system and handshake is happened. It does not indicate if the message is processed by the receiver system.
Hope it help
Harish
