Using Product Interchangeability Chains in DP ?

Hello Experts,

we are working on a Product Replacement solution in DP using a home-grown BW InfoObject / Attribute approach. Now I'm running over SAP's SCM7.0 DP help section (below) which explains that simple 1:1 Product Interchangebility chains can be used "within Demand planning" too.  To my (current) knowledge you can use following capabilities in SCM for modeling product-to-product change overs in DP: Like modeling, Phase-in/out modeling, Product split, Realignment …but not directly the ICCs in DP.

Therefore my question: is this a misunderstanding on my side reading SAP’s help since it simply means I can generate product split entries etc. from /INCMD/UI  _OR_ is there truly a usage possible in DP ? If so, how does that work ?

Regards

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

Yes below link also shows that Interchangeability options in DP is usage of one of the four options which you also enlisted -

Which Interchangeability Method Should I Use? - Product Interchangeability in Demand Planning - SAP ...

Creation of interchangeability Group via /INCMD/UI and assigning to Model is more relevant in SNP and GATP.

Hi Alok,

tks - this confirms my impression - it's meant that I can generate a product split for example out of an ICC definition but not really use an ICC in DP.
