Delivery getting hung / stuck (on adding a Delivery Header Partner Function)

Hi,

Please find issue steps below:

Step 1

     Add a  new partner function row in a Delivery

Step 2

     Change something in Delivery

Step 3

     Save.

     Screen get stuck. It shows as Processing, but doesn't get saved, cannot click anywhere else.

     Would be stuck at the last screen browsed (wherever change was made).

     Have to stop transaction to exit the screen.

(OR)

Step 1

     Add a new partner function row in a Delivery.

Step 2

     Goto Extras-Delivery output - Header (It should ideally take to Output type screen)

     Screen get stuck. Cannot see Output type screen.

     Would be stuck at Delivery Header Partner Function screen itself.

     Have to stop transaction to exit the screen.

Any idea what could be causing this issue ?

Hi,

Is this happening for every delivery ? check with other deliveries also.

Check with same as well as different PF.

Simultaneously, check with Basis, memory utilization while processing affected delivery. Check what other processes being used.

This happens only with a particular Partner Function.

For all deliveries having this particular PF has this issue.

So couldn't be a BASIS issue.

Hello,

May there is some development (enhancement) done in the Delivery create / change process which is not expecting this situation of new Partner Function and does not know what to do.

Will it be possible to debug (with help of ABAPer) the process until it is getting struck which may give a better idea. Prima facie this does not seem to be a SAP Standard behavior unless it is Basis issue which is most likely not the case because it is happening with only one Partner Function.

Hi Jignesh,

On debugging it gets stuck at Function Module "MESSAGING" because it does not find a Recipient for that Partner Function row.

But couldn't figure out what recipient is missing.

Just a wild guess, check if the PF exists really.

Afraid if the PF already been archived or set for deletion.

PF exists.

Also noticed that this happens only for a particular Ship-To-Party(SH).

So only for this particular SH and PF, delivery gets stuck.

Any more suggestions ?

As noted, this is not a standard SAP behavior. Since this is some oddball issue specific to your system I doubt you'd get it resolved by asking on SCN.

Get some assistance from ABAP and Basis locally and, if all else fails, open an incident with SAP.

Hi,

There seems to be having a Performance Issue on SOMG Table (Recipient list) select query.

But not sure why it is happening only for a specific Ship To Party and specific custom Partner Function.

I came across this useful link http://scn.sap.com/thread/1234019  Talks about link between NACH SOMG SOUI ADCP ADR6 tables

SAP is yet to respond with a solution.

Resolved it, by deleting a condition record for that partner function, ship-to-party.
