Hello Experts,
I want to cancel a active background job after it runs more than 1 hour.
is there a way to do that?
Thanks,
Raneetha.
Hi,
I believe this is no such functionality.
However, I think you can use CCMS to monitor such jobs.
for example, if the job is running more than 1 hours, send you email automatically, when you are on work, check the email and decide if delete/cancel it or not.
CCMS job monitor notes:
553953 - RZ20: Monitoring background jobs
636976 - RZ20: Problems in job monitoring
1138223 - CCMS: New Monitoring for Long-Running Batch Jobs
Thanks and best regards,

Hi,
Auto termination to active jobs from SAP will not be possible and also not suggested as there may be reasons for long running like resource utilization during that time causes long run .
but yes if required ,you can try writing logic with shell scripting like BTC work process active since this many seconds .. and execution through crontab .
While to have alert configured as Shi suggested ,configure in CCMS RZ20 for auto mail trigger and then take descison to stop or not.

Hello all,
I want to cancel without manual intervention.
Some jobs we have setup runs through the night . If some issue happens it runs for hours.
so if there is a way kill it after lets say 1 hour that will be great.
Thanks,
Raneetha

Hi,
For this topic, I've summarized the wiki page :
How to delete jobs from SM37 - Application Server Infrastructure - SCN Wiki
I believe you will get your answer from that wiki.
