Validity date of inspection plan, mic

Would there be any impact by Inspection plan which has been created with later date  as validity date than the Purchase Order, production order etc.,

similarly if the MIC also has been created on a later date than the Purchase order and production etc., what kind of impact,  will it causes an error during QM Inspection production...

Pl. help to understand.

regards,

If you are referring the validity date as Goods Receipt date then the only impact would be - the inspection lot would go into CRTD status. It is always advisable to create inspection plan prior to the goods receipt. Let us take this example,

  1. Goods Receipt Date = 1-Nov-15
  2. MIC Creation Date = 16-Nov-15
  3. Inspection Plan Creation Date = 16-Nov-15

Here the status of inspection lot would surely be CRTD. However you can still assign the inspection plan that lot today i.e. on 17-Nov. For this you need to go to QA32 > Change inspection Lot > Update Key date as today's date. The significance of this key date is - It checks if the given inspection plan is valid on this date or not. If you update any date prior to 16-Nov-15, then the lot would remain in CRTD status.

Hope this helps!

what is the impact on the process if an inspection plan has a validity date that is prior to date of MIC Validity which is assigned to it.

For example 10.4.2015 is the plan validity date and MIC valid from 10.6.2015 . What is the impact on the process in such cases.

No impact if your MIC's validity is later than that of inspection plan.

Many organisations, infact, follow such practice where MICs are created time to time and they are assigned to an existing inspection plan.

Scenarios can be taken a laboratory test where chemical composition for normal steel is being analysed. Inspection plan would be having MICs for different elements

Organisation decided to manufacture stainless steel now and elements like Chromium, Nickel come into major play. Thus two more MICs for Cr and Ni would be created and they'd be assigned to same inspection plan.

However, when you assign new MICs to an existing plan then they'll appear for result recording only for thereafter created inspection lots. Previous inspection lot would remain unchanged.
